MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages is a family owned and
operated guest facility. The senior members, Mike and
Wendy Neilson have been in the guest house and catering business in Canada
for many years. In 2004 they happily joined Wendy's daughter Judith, to lend a hand in maintaining and improving the
excellent standards set by previous owners at what was known as 'Middlewick
Cottages'.
Amanda I'Ons is the manager, in charge of all things relating to
the running of a busy office while Ian Abbs (new to the team December 07) mans the reservations
phones during the off hours. Ian is generally the 'meeter and greater' of
guests complete with a fund of knowledge of things to see and do in and
around Glastonbury. Trevor Butcher has replaced Michael Bell
(retired to France) as the very handy man. Clever Trevor brings an abundant
knowledge of gardens. Someday soon Middlewick will revert to
former glory. Shelagh White, our head
housekeeper, makes sure your cottage is clean and ready for your arrival.
Last but by no means least, Mike and Wendy are in charge of the
Canadian/English breakfasts for the B & B..
We have a fully qualified beauty therapist, Stacey, occupying our 'treatment room'. A full range of treatments and prices
available upon request.
Reiki, with Helen Harwood. Enjoy Helen's own unique style
of energy healing. She is qualified to Reiki Master Teacher Level.
Equestrian facilities have been added to the establishment and
the barn and are now in full swing.
Judith's credentials include Three Day Eventing at Badminton and
Burghley. She is offering coaching and training for all levels in all disciplines of
horsemanship. There is short
term stabling available for guests of the complex who are taking part in the
coaching and training programs.
Winston, a very large and furry cross between a standard poodle and a
lab believes he is small while his good friend Charlie (a well behaved
Jack Russell.. yes, they do exist) thinks like an
elephant. New on the scene, a Lucas Terrier puppy. They enjoy all people and we hope you won't find them 'too'
friendly. It is because of Winston and Suzi that we must regrettably
decline guests who wish to bring their pets. (Charlie is no
longer with us....after a long illness he departed from his earthly
adventures. He is sadly missed) (mid march 08)
We look forward to having you visit us at MapleLeaf
Middlewick Holiday Cottages.
(Feb 2008)
Post note... Sadly, in March,
wee Charlie departed for the rabbit chasing warren in the sky.
