The Annex The Annex is situated in what was originally the milking parlour here at Middlewick farm. This spacious 1 bedroom cottage still retains the high vaulted ceilings that would have been in the barn along with a stone floor in the large lounge. French doors lead into the cottage from a communal courtyard which historically would have been a meeting place for the dairy herd. These days the courtyard is the meeting place for our guests on our summer pizza nights where we cook in our outdoor wood burning pizza oven. The extra large lounge has a wood burner which make it one of our most popular cottages in the winter. The wood burner keeps the cottage lovely and warm as well as providing a beautiful ambience to enjoy your stay. We provide enough wood to start your first fire and then there is additional wood for sale in our farm shop to keep you going. The lounge has a double sofa bed plus an additional sofa. Within the lounge is a dining area with a table and 4 chairs. Down a single step brings you to a newly renovated kitchen with plenty of space for cooking. There is a fridge and a freezer in this cottage. We have plenty of cookbooks in the Annex so combine that with the great Somerset produce in the farm shop and you will definitely be inspired to cook. The large double bedroom has plenty of space for a travel cot or a toddler bed. It has French doors that lead out to a back garden. Within the bedroom is a vanity unit and off of the bedroom is an ensuite shower and toilet. As well as the wood burner the Annex has central heating in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom with additional electric heaters in the lounge. Annex is one of our dog friendly cottages. New for 2013 there is now the option to extend Annex into Meadow Barn to create a large 3 bedroom (2 doubles and one twin) unit. The 2 cottages will need to be booked individually, and you will need to let us know you want them to be connected. They will provide a wonderfully large house for 2 families or a larger group of friends.
