Springfield Cottage - sleeps 6
Springfield is
within one of the original barns of Middlewick Farm. When it
was built in the 18th Century it would have housed farm animals.
By the 1970s it was being used as a sheepskin workshop to take advantage of the growing demand for
sheepskin products. Sheepskin fleeces from the surrounding farms
were turned into the very fashionable sheepskin coats, hats and
mittens. Sadly sheepskin coats went out of fashion in the 1980s and
the Middlewick workshop closed down. The stone barn was converted
to 2 holiday cottages, Pippin and Springfield.
Springfield is a 2
storey 3 bedroom cottage. Off the stone flagged hallway is the large
open plan lounge and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped
with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and hob.
Also on the ground floor there is a twin bedroom with an en-suite
shower room with toilet.
Open tread stairs lead up to a large
landing area. There is a single bedroom on one side of the landing
and a triple bedroom on the other side. The triple has a double bed
and a single bed. Off the landing is also a very large family
bathroom with shower and separate bath.
Springfield is gas central
heated.
To the front of Springfield is a garden with a
picnic table for outdoor dining.
Springfield is one of our dog friendly cottages.
