Family Friendly at Middlewick
With all the outdoor space, a heated indoor swimming pool, our animals (chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, Maggie and Elle (our two resident Ladradoodles) Middlewick Holiday Cottages is the perfect place for a family break.
If the weather is good we have plenty of space well away from any roads for the children to play in. If the weather is less good, or it is just time for some fun then our indoor heated indoor swimming pool is great.
Our animals are all friendly, love to get attention and are happy to let you feed them (we can supply the correct food). Most Sundays Mornings Lizzie does a short farm tour to meet all of the animals.
Middlewick is a 25minute walk into Glastonbury Town, and also up to the Tor, so you can explore on foot some days.
We have a son Thomas, who is in charge of finding the fun around the place , and having previously created Green Baby – the organic Childrens & Nursery product company in 1999, believe in all that is good about family life.
We all look forward to welcoming you to Middlewick Holiday Cottages.
Jill, Jonathan & Thomas Barker
Our indoor swimming pool is open every day of the year. It is great to learn to swim in, or just for relaxing and fun with the family. The pool is 4′ deep and heated by our Bio Mass boilers to approximately 30°C which means it is lovely to swim in even on those cold winter days.
For safety reasons parents must supervise their children (under 18) in the pool at all times.
Our pizza nights are periodically held during the Spring, Summer and Autumn holidays, generally on either a Wednesday or Thursday night, so do come and join us. We will let you know when you arrive if this is happening or you can check on our monthly calendar. Our wood burning outdoor pizza oven is situated in the centre of the complex outside of the Reception/Farm shop. We provide the pizza dough and toppings, you then will have to make your own pizza which will then be cooked by our resident pizza chef. We charge £12.50 for adults and £6.25 for children U12 years old. Puddings are extra as are drinks from the bar.
Farm Tours on a Sunday
Most Sunday mornings around 9.30am one of our young neighbours, Lizzie, does a little tour of Middlewick so that everyone can meet the animals. We always have sheep, goats, chickens, horses, dogs and cats, and some of the year we will have pigs as well. Look out for the sign by reception or ask inside.
Library and Games
We have a small lending library on site with a selection of eclectic titles for the adults, and a selection of books, board games and jigsaws to keep the younger ones occupied. There is no charge for use of any of the games.
If you are coming with young children or babies then there are some things you might need that will not fit into the car! We can help and have a limited number of:
- High Chairs
- Baby Travel Cots
- Stair Gates
