Our Green Tourism Commitments

Having been at the forefront of Ethical and Environmental retail and founding the famous children's brand Green Baby, Jill and Jonathan Barker are now working to improve the Green credentials of Middlewick, and to engage positively with our guests and environment in this regard.

Going Green is always a work in progress and is not just about our buildings and energy consumption. It is a complete way of thinking about our environment (local as well as global), consumption, supply chain and much more. Having taken over Middlewick in the Spring of 2011 our plans are still a 'work in progress'. We are already sourcing food, services and building materials locally, starting to reclaim the kitchen garden (that has 15 years + of wilderness taking it over) and working to provide a 'Green' wedding venue.
