Enjoying Somerset’s Finest Foods!
One of the Best parts of a holiday is enjoying the Local Food and Drink. Fortunately, Somerset is bursting with Artisan producers so you are spoiled for choice. Our On Site Farm Shop sells a wide range of local products so you can try for yourself when you come to stay.
Eggs – we always have plenty freshly laid eggs courtesy of our 21 free range hens. If you are lucky we may have white or blue ones available alongside of the normal brown eggs. We have 1 little white hen that lays blue eggs, 6 white hens that lay white eggs and the brown ones come from the selection of brown and black hens. All have amazingly yellow yolks and taste delicious. Once you have had our eggs you may not eat supermarket eggs again.
Depending on the time of year you visit you may find our own home reared pork and lamb for sale. If not ours it will be from one of our neighbours’ farms. We also stock Beef and Lamb by White’s of Wick, the next door farm. Our vegetable garden always has kale and salad that you can pick yourself. Our other vegetables come from local Somerset farms, carrots and potatoes grow very well in our area.
Autumn brings us an abundance of pears and apples from our orchards. We also produce our own apple juice and cider that can be purchased in the shop. We normally have plenty of milk, bread, cereals, snacks, cakes and much more. You can also choose to order our breakfast boxes, either when making your reservation, or by phoning a few days before you arrive.
For a more extensive selection, enjoy the wonderful quality and flavour of locally produced and organic foods delivered to your door by Somerset Local Food Direct.
