As many of you will know we host Vital Detox Retreats regularly throughout the year. The retreats have grown in success over the last four years with hundreds of people now having been on the week long retreats. There is a full programme of courses through 2017 and 2018. I have tried the retreat twice now, back in 2014 and again in April 2016. My story is below.

“7 days of juice and raw food was not my idea of fun. Every month 20 …individuals arrive here to go through the process of cutting out all their addictions – food, cigarettes, alcohol, soft drinks, sugar – all sorts. Diet is not always the only issue and I was fascinated to see what a difference a week of cutting out food did for these people.
I locked myself away in one of our cottages for a week and went through all the meditation and yoga (oh my I sat still for long periods of time), I turned my phone off, I didn’t check my emails, no phone calls and I left the family to take care of themselves, all be it only a couple of hundred meters away.
Every day there were talks about nutrition and diet – I learned so much from the very talented ladies who run the courses.
I came away after the week 10 pounds lighter and full of energy. I was surprised by how much energy I had on no food, apparently when you digestion stops having to do work to break down food the body has excess energy to use up. So I was walking up the Tor and swimming every day during the week.
I carried on with a raw food diet that my lovely friend Nas from MyFood gave me to try out. The weight kept coming off.
So now 6 months on my weight is the same as when I was in my 20’s and I feel the healthiest I have felt in ages.”
